Dates are hands-down the best sweetener! You know that because they are featured in all of our cookies! They add moisture, sweetness, and loads of nutrition as well!
I like to keep some date paste on hand to sweeten salad dressings, desserts, sauces, etc. It can be subbed for sugar in many recipes!
1 cup pitted dates
1/2 cup water
If you can, soak the dates and the water for an hour or so. Blend the water and the dates until smooth and store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
