Raw Apple Crunch

Enjoy a super simple seasonal dessert, breakfast or snack idea! 

 

RAW APPLE CRUNCH

1 apple (your favorite variety), sliced 

Almond Drizzle (see below)

1/4 cup Raw Buckwheat Power - Pumpkin Spice 

Directions 

Arrange the slices on a plate and drizzle with the Almond Drizzle.  Arrange the Raw Buckwheat Power as pictured. Enjoy!  

ALMOND DRIZZLE

(From America Goes Vegan by Tracy Childs and Glen Merzer) 

This sweet drizzle topping is amazing on pancakes, waffles, muffins, or desserts. It’s a tasty and much healthier substitute for butter and syrup.

(makes about ½ cup)

¼ cup almond butter

2 tablespoons date syrup, maple syrup or paste

⅛ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

¼ teaspoon vanilla (optional)

2-3 tablespoons water or unsweetened plant milk (as needed)

 INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small bowl, stir together the almond butter, date syrup (or paste) and vanilla (if using) with a fork.
  2. One tablespoon at a time, gradually add enough water or plant milk to create a consistency that can be easily drizzled.

 CHEF’S NOTE

You can make date syrup by stirring together equal parts date sugar and water, or by thinning ¼ cup Date Paste with a teaspoon or two of water.

This mixture will likely thicken when cold. Allow it to come to room temperature or add a bit of hot water to thin.
